INTERVIEW - EVENING COURIER - 05 JANUARY 2018 Marina and the b & b of well-being (thanks to minerals) The risk of dismissal and the new business: transforming one's home into an accommodation facility by Marianna Locatelli "In this room there is rose quartz, which affects the heart chakra. Instead, that is an amethyst, which stimulates intuition, and over there is pyrite, which instills courage and optimism ". While showing the rooms of her bed & breakfast - three bedrooms, kitchen and living room - Marina Anna Gotti, 57, pauses to illustrate the "beneficial properties of minerals" which she has carefully placed in every corner of the building, from the bedside tables to the flight of stairs. . When she decided to leave her office job and share her house in Ponteranica with tourists and businessmen stopping in Bergamo, she chose a solution that reflected her: "I wanted to share my passion for minerals - he says-, I like to think that anyone who sleeps here can benefit from the positive vibrations of the stones ». So, if some guests do not go beyond the usual chatter, others "stop and talk for a long time, tell me something about their life and maybe even end up giving them a mineral", smiles Marina, who also loves wearing stones Like the bracelet of purple pebbles that her daughter gave her when she was eight and which suggested the bed & breakfast's name "Amethyst".She inaugurated it three years ago, after the company she had worked for for years informed her of the risk of dismissal due to the crisis: "I was afraid - admits Marina -, how would I have done without a job?". In the despair, however, an intuition makes room: anticipating the project he dreamed of for retirement. In a short time he obtained the permits and started the works to transform his residence into an accommodation facility. For three years he was divided between working in the office (which he eventually kept) and managing the house, with repercussions on his mood and health: "I slept little and was always in a rush - he remembers -. I couldn't devote the time I wanted to my business, which was fortunately having success ». Added to this is the effort of showing up in "offices where I could not be happy" and the desire to go back to work on my own: "At 23 I created a business that made tailored and commissioned shirts for major brands - he explains -. I sold it when my daughter was born, I didn't want to sacrifice my role as a mother. " From that moment, and for over twenty years, he moved from company to company, covering various roles, with the distant goal of opening his home to passing people. Life has accelerated the times and since September, with the signing of the resignation, its schedules follow the sleep of the roommates.
